This Sumatra comes from the well-known Aceh district. This district includes the smaller  city/regency of Bener Meriah. GARMINDO cooperative's full name is the Gayo Arabica  Mahkota Indonesia Cooperative, and it is an association started in 2019 with 625  smallholder farmers members, each of whom owns less than 1.5 hectares of farmland, on average. The association was founded by cooperative partner Sakdan, who owns and operates the Bergandal Farm and Mill. He and his brothers were raised in a coffee-producing family and have long been supporters of their fellow farmers.

GARMINDO also has a women coffee producers’ subgroup, from whom this coffee comes. The women members typically bring their coffee in cherry form to a collection point where it is dupulped, fermented underwater for 12 hours, and given a pre-dry before undergoing the Wet-Hulling process. The coffee is dried on patios and typically takes 2–3 days under sunny conditions. It can take up to 7 days when the weather is rainy and humid. 

Flavor Profile

This Sumatra is bold, heavy and super rich. While it has some earthy notes, even piney, it is naturally sweet with dark honey notes. Normally, a coffee this rich and dark will leave you with coffee tastes in your mouth for hours. This one is different as it's clean and elegant with some nice floral notes to finish. It leaves your mouth almost clean and crisp.

We offer discounted shipping and prevents customers from signing up for subscriptions, cancelling, and signing back up If cancelling via email, please contact us at least 5 days before the date you are scheduled to be charged for your next shipment.

Gift Subscriptions: Gift Subscriptions are prepaid at check out. After the first delivery is made the subscription cannot be cancelled or partially refunded. The address for the subscription can be changed and amended. Gift subscriptions do not renew.
