Serra Negra, or “black mountain” is a Brazilian profile that captures the most classic profile from Minas Gerais Sul de Minas. This coffee can also be blended with our Natural Brazilto make a half-caf.
Decaf Process: Water Process Decaffeination
Tasting Notes: This coffee has a nice cherry blossom note on the first smell. Your first taste is very nutty and sweet like peanut brittle and raw sugar. It has a mellow hint of lemon zest as an undertone. It is very easy to drink and smooth.
After selection, the green coffee is pre-soaked in water to expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The beans are then introduced to a solution concentrated with coffee solubles that extract the caffeine without extracting the coffee’s particular flavor. No chemicals are used in the extraction of the caffeine.
